Jobst Anti-Embolism Knee Highs are designed to prevent Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT) or blood clots for patients who are resting in bed or are otherwise immobile.

Jobst Anti-Embolism Knee Highs are designed to reduce the risk of deep vein thrombosis or blood clots in the post-operative or non-ambulatory patient.  Known as TED's or Thrombo Embolic Deterrent, these Anti-Embolism Knee Highs are designed for non-ambulatory patients.  They are not designed for ambulatory patients who are sitting in wheel chairs or who are walking.  The engineering of anti-embolism garments does require an ankle measurement that is extremely important for patients who are upright when gravity has an influence on the return flow of fluids in the leg.
